The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport / Classic is in fact a production of the 1st generation Outlander / Airtrek from 2002. This car was so successful that Mitsubishi decided to produce it until 2010.
The Outlander / Airtrek was manufactured in cooperation with Daimler. Especially in the Airtrek the cooperation is reflected. In Airtrek many of the stylistic elements that Daimler used in those years with their own cars are visible. Look for example at the head and fog lights of the Airtrek.
An emblem with Daimler-Benz (Mercedes) on this car was certainly not misplaced. Then the brand would have been able to offer its customers a technically efficient and trouble-free car.
