Pieces 4 generation Mitsubishi Pajero.pn

The Mitsubishi Pajero is an off-road vehicle and an SUV (sport utility vehicle). Due to the worldwide popularity of the model, the name Pajero is also used for other models. The car is also sold abroad under the model names Mitsubishi Montero or Mitsubishi Shogun. Pajero' was derived from the name of the pampakat, Leopardus pajeros. Montero' means 'hunter in the mountains', 'Shogun' is a title of Japanese commander in chief.

Pajero Mk I

In October 1981 the Pajero made its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show and on 7 May 1982 it was launched on the market. In 1983 Pajero participated in the Dakar for the first time. In 1985 they won their first victory here. Since then, the Pajero has become one of the most successful cars of this race.

Pajero Mk II

The Pajero has been redesigned for 1992, everything has been improved and more powerful engines have become available. From 1992 Mitsubishi introduced the Super Select with four-wheel drive (SS4), which could variably distribute the engine power between the front and rear axles without the vehicle stopping. The Pajero was also equipped with an anti-lock braking system.

Pajero Mk III

The third generation of Pajero was introduced to the Japanese domestic market in 1999 and to the rest of the world at the end of 2000. The car was completely new and more luxurious than previous generations. The 3.0-litre V6 was reduced to 175 hp and the Japanese 3.5-litre direct fuel injection with a capacity of 217 hp. The 2.8-litre diesel was only reserved for developing countries and Europe got a very strong DiD Diesel 3.2-litre 161 hp.

Pajero Mk IV

At the end of 2006, beginning of 2007, the new Mitsubishi Pajero was introduced. Optically, the car has been modified considerably, but it remains a real off-road vehicle. All the technology that was developed during Rally Raids such as Dakar has been incorporated into this high-tech Terrain car. The design of the car resembles the winning Mitsubishi Pajero of the Dakar Rally Raid. This Pajero is still produced today.

Strong, reliable and comfortable. This is the best way to describe the Pajero of all generations. Despite the fact that it is a real car, this 4th generation Pajero has remained a luxury car, with the behaviour of a racing car. This model is still in production, only this icon is no longer available in Europe. Partly because Mitsubishi has a huge range of SUVs and partly because the Pajero is too big a competitor for the current models such as Outlander, Eclipse Cross, L200 and Pajero Sport.
