The Mitsubishi Sapporo-coupé hardtop and rear wheel drive is based on the third generation of the Galant and was delivered in Europe from 1975 to 1984.
In Japan, Sapporo was sold under the name 'Mitsubishi Galant Lambda', while in the European and South American export markets it was called 'Sapporo'. In the USA the car was called
"Dodge (Colt) Challenger" or "Chrysler Sigma Scorpion".
The second generation Sapporo was delivered from 1981 to 1984, even with a 170 hp turbocharged petrol engine with electronic injection.
In 1987 Sapporo returned to the market as another coupe version of the 5th generation Galant,
now as a luxury four-door coupe.
In 1990 this model was replaced by the super modern and ultra luxurious Mitsubishi Sigma / Diamante.
